SEOUL, May 8 (Korea Bizwire)GS Caltex Corp., South Korea’s second-largest refiner, will conduct “Classroom Healing” online, a social contribution program for grade 1 of middle school students, amid the outbreak of the novel coronavirus.

The program is a collective art healing program aimed at preventing maladjustment of students to their social environment at the early stages of admission, and will be conducted by GS Caltex and the Korea educational volunteer group.

The company will conduct eight programs online for 600 middle school students in 89 different groups in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province during the first semester.

The program complements the limitations of the existing face-to-face approach by using two-way communication methods in which art therapists and students participate together on one screen.

According to GS Caltex, participant feedback suggested that the non-face-to-face method was less burdensome for other group members and that they could participate more naturally.

In line with the government’s policy to open schools nationwide, the company will switch the program to the existing face-to-face mode when students go to school on June 1.
