SEOUL, June 23 (Korea Bizwire) — More than half of South Korean singles don’t feel the need to get married, a recent study revealed.
Embrain Trend Monitor, a market research firm, conducted a survey of 1,200 South Korean single men and women between the ages of 19 and 45, of which only 18.1 percent thought marriage was necessary.
The result was 20.3 percent lower than an earlier survey conducted in 2017, indicating that South Korean singles are becoming less inclined towards marriage.
At 54.5 percent, more than half of the respondents showed indifference toward marriage. The response was higher among women (66.8 percent) than men (42.2 percent).
