SEOUL, May 12 (Korea Bizwire) — Hanwha Asset Management Co. said Wednesday it had listed the ARIRANG US Alternative Investment Top 10 MV exchange traded fund (ETF) on the South Korean bourse.
The newly-released EFT invests in the top ten U.S. listed companies with more than 75 percent of their sales or managed assets coming from alternative assets.
The portfolio of the ETF would include U.S.-based private equity firms like KKR & Co., Blackstone Inc. and Carlyle Group, as well as alternative asset operators such as Apollo Global Management Inc. and Brookfield Asset Management Inc.
Through investment in such asset managers, the ETF can achieve the effect of indirect investment in global alternative assets.
The benchmark index that the ETF will track is MV Index Solutions’ BlueStar Top 10 US Listed Alternative Asset Managers Index.
“This is the world’s first ETF that invests in a full range of alternative assets, including not only private equity funds but also venture capitals and business development companies,” Hanwha Asset Management said.
