SEOUL, Feb. 3 (Korea Bizwire) —Hanwha Ocean Co. said Monday it has successfully delivered a large wind turbine installation vessel (WTIV) to global offshore wind farm builder Cadeler one month ahead of its planned delivery date.

Ordered in 2021, the WTIV, measuring 148 meters in length and 56 meters in width, is capable of carrying up to 2,600 tons, according to the South Korean shipbuilder.

It can transport and install up to five 15 megawatt-class offshore wind turbines at once and is equipped to operate in waters up to 65 meters deep.

The newly delivered vessel is set to begin operations at the Greater Changhua Offshore Wind Farms in Taiwan.

Philip Levy, president of Hanwha Ocean’s offshore business, credited the early delivery to efficient project management and close collaboration with the client.

Hanwha Ocean said it has delivered three WTIVs, with another vessel currently under construction and scheduled for delivery by the end of the year.
