SEOUL, Dec. 27 (Korea Bizwire)Hanwha Systems Co. said Friday it will export arms control systems for the K11 fire command armored vehicle and the upgraded K9A1 self-propelled howitzer to Egypt.

Hanwha Systems said it will supply the fire command system for 51 K11 units and the fire control system for 216 K9A1 units, with contracts worth 30.5 billion won (US$20.7 million) and 44.3 billion won, respectively, to Egypt.

The company plans to begin the delivery of initial batches in the first half of next year and continue the supply until December 2028.

The K11 commands and controls the firing of the K9A1 self-propelled howitzer, with each K11 unit responsible for controlling six K9A1 units.

The fire control system for the K9A1 plays a critical role in delivering information related to firing, such as target identification, real-time location and direction.

According to Hanwha Systems, this marks the first time that a fire command system developed by a domestic defense contractor has been exported overseas.
