SEOUL, Aug. 31 (Korea Bizwire) — Home brewing is rising as a new alternative to the craft beer industry in the coronavirus era.
LG HomeBrew by LG Electronics Inc. is an automatic brewing machine that works with a simple capsule.
The user only needs to add water and a capsule that contains various ingredients needed for home brewing, and simply turning a dial gets the machine to work on fermenting, aging, and storing the final product.
INTHEKEG Inc., a local keg manufacturing startup, jumped into the business-to-business (B2B) market with its refrigerator-sized keg container, which can accommodate up to ten 18-liter kegs.
After pouring wort into the machine, it automatically produces beer with the simple touch of a button.
The Korea Craftbrewers Association forecasts that South Korea’s domestic craft beer market will reach 300 billion won (US$253 million) by 2024, accounting for 6.2 percent of the country’s entire beer industry.
