SEOUL, April 29 (Korea Bizwire) — A home shopping company plans to create television shows without a stage set, replacing it instead with a digital screen.
Shinsegae TV Shopping Inc., the home shopping arm of retail giant Shinsegae, announced Tuesday that it will install a 26.5-meter wide, 3.2-meter tall LED digital wall that will replace stage sets in all studios starting in May.
Unlike stage sets that need to be set up and disassembled every time a show is produced, digital walls are capable of screening the background.
The company expects that the new digital walls will save as much as 50 percent of annual production costs and reduce preparation time prior to broadcasting.
