SEOUL, Nov. 7 (Korea Bizwire) – Hotel Shilla Co. said Tuesday it has opened another duty-free outlet at a new airport terminal in Singapore, as it attempts to expand its presence in the overseas market.
The new outlet at Changi Airport’s Terminal 4 has 117 cosmetics and fragrance brands, including 16 South Korean ones, the operator of Shilla Duty Free said.
Hotel Shilla has been operating duty-free shops at three other terminals at the Singapore airport.
In April, the duty-free operator also secured the license to operate a business at Hong Kong International Airport on Chek Lap Kok island. The new outlet is scheduled to open next month.
Hotel Shilla earlier said it will boost efforts to achieve its annual revenue target of 1 trillion won (US$889 million) from its overseas duty-free business. In 2016, it raked in some 500 billion won in overseas sales, the largest in terms of revenue compared to its local rivals.
