SEOUL, Feb. 16 (Korea Bizwire) — South Korean hotels are under transformation to survive the impact of the COVID-19 crisis.
Lotte Hotel Seoul sold 13 types of traditional cuisines on a drive-thru basis during the Lunar New Year holiday.
The hotel started selling hotel food on a drive-thru basis in March 2020, a first among domestic hotels, and introduced three types of drive thru cuisines during the Chuseok holiday last fall.
Some hotels are introducing a self check-in and check-out system.
At the Suites Hotel Jeju, the assignment of rooms, check-in, check-out, payment and parking are available on a non-face-to-face basis.
There are even some hotel products targeting those who work from home.
The Westin Josun Busan is scheduled to sell a special package for work-from-home workers by February 28 that offers guests a stay at the hotel for 12 hours with check-in at 8 a.m. and check-out at 8 p.m.
