SEOUL, Feb. 6 (Korea Bizwire) – Hyosung, a South Korean industrial conglomerate, announced its commitment to supporting the survival of endangered winter birds such as eagles, greater white-fronted geese, and swans by providing food aid. The initiative aims to ensure these species, some of which are designated as natural monuments, have a successful wintering period.

To commemorate World Wetlands Day on February 2, Hyosung employees participated in a release event for three eagles that had been rescued and rehabilitated from starvation.

The eagles, named Hyosung 1, Hyosung 2, and Hyosung 3, mark the beginning of the company’s ongoing efforts to protect and conserve wintering birds by managing and naming each eagle released in the future.

Since November of last year, Hyosung has been purchasing domestic agricultural and livestock products to feed the migratory birds visiting the Hwapocheon Wetland Ecological Park in Gimhae, South Gyeongsang Province.

This initiative not only aids in the preservation of endangered species and biodiversity but also supports local agriculture and the rural economy by creating a market for these products.

Hyosung’s feeding program is expected to raise awareness of the importance of the Hwapocheon Wetlands, contribute to local eco-tourism, and underline the company’s commitment to environmental sustainability and the protection of endangered wildlife.

Hyosung’s chairman, Cho Hyun-joon, emphasized the company’s dedication to biodiversity conservation as a foundation for corporate operations and sustainable development. He pledged to actively engage in various activities aimed at preserving endangered species and their habitats.
