SEOUL, Apr. 22 (Korea Bizwire)Hyundai Motor Group said Monday it has developed mobile tune-up technology for its upcoming electric vehicle models.

The latest achievement is part of the South Korean automotive group’s efforts to evolve into a smart mobility solutions provider in the long term.

Hyundai Motor Co. and Kia Motors Corp., two major affiliates of the group, plan to apply the smartphone- or tablet PC-based tune-up technology to the new and upgraded EV models they are planning to launch, Hyundai said in a statement.

The mobile EV tune-up technology will allow the driver to set seven functions — torque, acceleration, deceleration, power generation during braking, speed limit, responsiveness and air conditioning — at desired levels before he or she sits behind the wheel, the statement said.

Hyundai and Kia said they plan to add 44 environmentally friendly vehicles, including 23 EV models, to their lineups by 2025.
