SEOUL, Aug. 25 (Korea Bizwire)Hyundai Motor Co. and its luxury brand Genesis said Monday they have been named leading carmakers in terms of technology experience by U.S. market research firm J.D. Power.

Hyundai ranked first for the sixth consecutive year among mass-market brands in the 2025 U.S. Tech Experience Index (TXI) study, scoring 493 points out of a possible 1,000, the company said in a press release.

Genesis ranked highest overall and topped the premium segment for innovation for the fifth straight year, with a score of 538.

“Hyundai’s continued success in the TXI Study highlights its mission to democratize advanced technology, making premium innovations widely accessible to mass-market customers,” said Olabisi Boyle, Hyundai Motor North America’s senior vice president of product planning and mobility strategy.

The Genesis GV80 sport utility vehicle (SUV) and Hyundai Santa Fe SUV were recognized for advanced technology features.

The Santa Fe’s phone-based digital key received top honors for convenience in accessing and sharing vehicle functions via smartphone.

The GV80 was also recognized for best connected-vehicle technology with its smartphone-based system, Genesis Digital Key 2.

J.D. Power’s annual TXI study measures owners’ experience with advanced vehicle technologies during the first 90 days of ownership, evaluating both satisfaction and the number of problems reported.
