SEOUL, Nov. 17 (Korea Bizwire) – Hyundai Glovis Co., the shipping logistics unit of Hyundai Motor Group, said Monday it has completed the transport of K2 tanks and K9 self-propelled howitzers to Poland last week, demonstrating its growing defense logistics capabilities.
The company said it successfully delivered 20 K2 tanks produced by Hyundai Rotem Co., the defense and train subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Group, and 21 K9 howitzers built by Hanwha Aerospace Co. to Poland’s Gdansk Port on Thursday.
Hyundai Glovis earlier shipped six K9 howitzers to Estonia as well, further demonstrating its capacity in sensitive defense logistics.
The company said its long-standing expertise in vehicle carrier operations allows it to provide end-to-end transport services for high-value cargo.
So far this year, the company has transported a total of 124 K2 tanks and 60 K9 howitzers across Europe, with local land transport handled by Adampol, its Polish logistics subsidiary.
“We will actively target the specialized cargo market based on our accumulated global transport capabilities, while also contributing to the overseas expansion of Korea’s strategic industries,” a Hyundai Glovis official said.
