MUNICH, Sept. 11 (Korea Bizwire)Hyundai Mobis, the parts and technology arm of Hyundai Motor Group, used Europe’s largest mobility exhibition on Tuesday to sharpen its ambition of becoming a global top-three auto supplier, highlighting its push into electrification and software-defined vehicles.

At the IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich, Axel Maschka, the company’s head of sales, told an audience that Hyundai Mobis’s strategy rests on three pillars: cleaner electrification, optimized system integration, and maximizing in-car user experience.

“Our vision to rise into the global top three is clear,” he said. “Turning crises into opportunities will be our driving force.”

Holographic Cockpit Debut
The centerpiece of the company’s exhibit was a futuristic digital cockpit concept, “M.VICS 6.0,” anchored by a holographic windshield display developed with German optics specialist Zeiss.

Unlike conventional heads-up displays, the technology projects driving data, navigation and entertainment content directly across the windshield without additional screens.

The system can separate the driver’s and passenger’s views, offering entertainment solely to the passenger side while blocking it from the driver — a privacy feature aimed at preventing distraction.

Hyundai Mobis was the only exhibitor at IAA to unveil holographic cockpit technology, a development that could reshape vehicle interiors by making traditional clusters and consoles unnecessary.

Other cockpit innovations included a sliding display that moves in curved lines up and down, and an augmented-reality HUD that projects three-dimensional driving information beyond the windshield onto the hood line.

Battery and Software Platforms
The company also showcased its portfolio of electric and hybrid battery systems, as well as integrated modules such as the “EDU 3-in-1,” which combines motor, inverter and reducer into a single unit.

Other highlights included a lineup of integrated charging control units, an in-wheel system enabling four-wheel independent drive, and a unified SDV software solution that upgrades steering and braking performance via over-the-air updates.

Hyundai Mobis first entered the IAA in 2021 and has since secured major European contracts, including a battery system supply deal with Volkswagen. To support this, it began construction of a plant in Spain last year with an annual capacity of 360,000 units.

This year’s showcase — themed “Deeper Look to Progress” — featured more than 20 products across electrification, electronics, lighting and chassis systems.

The company’s continued presence underscores its determination to expand in Europe, the world’s most competitive testing ground for electrification and SDVs.
