SEOUL, Mar. 7 (Korea Bizwire) – Half of the new recruits at Hyundai Mobis will be working in research and development with a focus on self-driving and connected car technologies, the company announced yesterday.

Of the 278 employees Hyundai Mobis hired last month, nearly a quarter were electronics and computer science majors in light of the current trend in the automotive industry that prioritizes advanced car technologies.

Car experts predict the future of the auto industry lies in both information technology and automation, and the South Korean car parts company is taking note.

To ensure product quality and productivity, 20 per cent of the new recruits will be working in the department of quality control and production technology.

Hyundai Mobis says it will invest more in R&D to prepare its employees for advanced automotive technology such as ICT (Information and Communications Technology), with plans for further recruitment later this year.
