SEOUL, Feb. 14 (Korea Bizwire) – Hyundai Motor Co. said Friday it will accept preorders for a custom-built high-performance edition of the company’s Ioniq 5 electric vehicle (EV), of which only 50 units will be sold globally.
Preorders for the Ioniq 5 N DK edition are available via the automaker’s N Performance Shop, an online tuning platform dedicated to Hyundai Motor’s high-performance N brand.
The Ioniq 5 N DK was first unveiled at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2025, Japan’s largest automotive tuning exhibition, held last month at Makuhari Messe convention center in Chiba Prefecture.
DK refers to Drift King, a nickname of Japan’s renowned professional racer Keiichi Tsuchiya, who collaborated with Hyundai Motor during the early development phase of the custom model.
According to Hyundai, the custom development incorporated testing on Japan’s local circuits to develop an optimal performance package using tuning parts from various manufacturers.
The model features advanced materials and technologies, including duralumin, a lightweight aluminum alloy used in aircraft, and enhanced braking performance. It also boasts improved aerodynamic performance.
