SEOUL, May 26 (Korea Bizwire)Hyundai Motor Group on Wednesday held the Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) Tech Day 2022 at the Hyundai Motor Studio in Goyang, northwest of Seoul, inviting some 100 aviation specialists, professors and college students.

AAM combines Hyundai’s original plans for urban air mobility (UAM) with regional air mobility (RAM).

At the event, Hyundai unveiled Project N, a multicopter drone developed for research purposes.

The group showcased the actual drone, along with a virtual demonstration of an AAM flight.

Unlike UAM vehicles that are powered by batteries, Project N uses both hydrogen fuel and batteries to fly longer distances more efficiently.

Hyundai has successfully completed demonstrations of a RAM vehicle powered by hydrogen fuel after a series of motor and flight tests.

The RAM vehicle became the country’s first hydrogen-powered aircraft to be certified as airworthy last February. The drone is 6 meters wide with a maximum take-off weight of 700 kilograms.
