SEOUL, Nov. 14 (Korea Bizwire) – Hyundai Motor Group is intensifying its efforts to bolster the 2030 Busan World Expo bid through a distinctive art car exhibition in San Francisco, USA.
On Tuesday, Hyundai Motor Group revealed plans to showcase 14 art cars featuring the Ioniq 5, EV6, and G80 electric models at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in San Francisco, California, scheduled from Nov. 11 to 17 (local time).
The APEC Summit serves as a global forum for leaders, foreign and trade ministers, and business executives from 21 member economies in the Asia-Pacific region to engage in discussions on pertinent issues.
The decision by Hyundai Motor Group to present Busan’s vision and competitiveness aligns strategically with the upcoming Nov. 28 vote to determine the host city for the 2030 Expo.
These art cars, meticulously designed by Hyundai Motor Group, showcase graffiti artworks capturing iconic symbols of Busan, such as the Gwangan Bridge and seagulls, accompanied by the rallying slogan “BUSAN is Ready.”
During the APEC Summit, Hyundai Motor Group will operate the art cars near the event venue and at prominent local attractions. Additionally, the art car exhibition will be featured at the main plaza of Pier 39, a prominent shopping mall and landmark in San Francisco.
This initiative follows Hyundai Motor Group’s successful deployment of art cars in various global events, including the Busan Expo Symposium in Paris, France, the United Nations General Assembly in New York, the Group of 20 Summit in New Delhi, India, and the ASEAN Summit in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Notably, in August 2021, Hyundai Motor Group achieved a historic milestone by establishing the Busan Expo Bid Support Task Force (TFT), becoming the first Korean conglomerate to form a dedicated organization for this purpose.
