SEOUL, Dec. 17 (Korea Bizwire)Hyundai Motor Group unveiled on Thursday a new-concept small mobility platform that integrates state-of-the-art robotics technology.

The platform, dubbed Mobile Eccentric Droid (MobED), can maintain a horizontal posture even on inclined and uneven roads with a flat rectangular-shaped body and four functional wheels.

Since the wheelbase and steering angles can be freely adjusted, MobED is optimized to move through narrow and complex urban environments.

Its wheelbase expands to 65 centimeters for optimum stability during high-speed driving and then scales down to 45 centimeters for low-speed maneuvers in more complex environments.

MobED measures 60 centimeters wide, 67 centimeters long, 33 centimeters high, and weighs 50 kilograms. With a maximum speed of 30 kilometers per hour, it can drive for four hours on a single charge.

The group expects the platform’s wheel adjustability, compact body size and low vibration capabilities to make it an optimal technology solution for delivery, guiding services and filming equipment.
