SEOUL, May 17 (Korea Bizwire) — Hyundai Motor Co. on Monday announced the details of a new electric vehicle (EV) charging subscription plan called Lucky Pass H that allows users to charge EVs at a discounted rate within the limit of pre-set charging maximums if they pay a certain fee every month.
Depending on the type of subscription fee and charging maximum, customers can select one of two subscription services: Lucky Pass H Green + (30,000 won (US$23.47) monthly subscription fee and 1,200 kWh monthly charging maximum) or Lucky Pass H Light + (15,000 won monthly subscription fee and 400 kWh monthly charging maximum).
On the basis of driving distance, Lucky Pass H Green + offers a discount up to an annual driving distance of up to 72,000 kilometers, while Lucky Pass H Light + works out to be cheaper for those with an annual driving distance of up to 24,000 kilometers.
Hyundai Motor said that those who use rapid chargers run by its partner STraffic can receive a discount of 50 percent, while those who use the ones run by state power firm Korea Electric Power Corp. (KEPCO) and the Ministry of Environment will receive discounts of 20 percent and 5 percent, respectively.
Users of slow chargers run by STraffic and KEPCO will receive a discount of 10 percent regardless of the pre-set charging maximum.
Hyundai Motor stressed that the use of STraffic rapid chargers through the Lucky Pass H Green + subscription service could result in annual charging cost savings of up to 1.86 million won.
