SEOUL, June 18 (Korea Bizwire) — Hyundai Motor Co. said Wednesday it has won four prestigious awards at the 2025 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, including the top prize in the entertainment category.
The automaker and Innocean, the marketing and communications arm of Hyundai Motor Group, won the Grand Prix for their jointly produced short film “Night Fishing,” a short mystery film set at an electric vehicle (EV) charging station.
Now in its 72nd year, Cannes Lions is one of the most influential global advertising festivals, attracting over 25,000 entries from more than 90 countries annually.
The film was praised for its unique storytelling perspective told through the view of cameras installed on an Ioniq 5 EV. It marked the first time for a Korean automaker to win a Grand Prix at Cannes Lions.
The company said the feat demonstrates global recognition of the film’s creativity and innovation in marketing.
Hyundai Motor also picked up three trophies for its corporate social responsibility (CSR) campaign “Tree Correspondents,” which won two Gold Lion awards and one Silver Lion award in the digital craft category.
The campaign incorporates generative artificial intelligence (AI), enabling trees to produce op-ed pieces from a first-person perspective based on various climate conditions, highlighting the urgency of forest preservation.
