SEOUL, Feb. 22 (Korea Bizwire) — Hyundai Motor Co.’s recent campaign to encourage dog owners to donate animal blood ended in success.
Hyundai, Konkuk University Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital and the Korean Canine Blood Donor Association held a series of ‘I’M DOgNOR’ campaigns in 2019 and 2020. ‘DOgNOR’ is a combination of the words ‘dog’ and ‘donor’.
Hyundai modified one the company’s four-door Solati vans into a blood donation vehicle, equipped with professional devices to ensure the safe donation and analysis of blood.
A total of dogs donated their blood during the campaign, collecting enough blood supply for some 200 dogs.
Hyundai also plans to establish the KU I’m DOgNOR blood donation center, Asia’s first voluntary dog blood donation center this year, vowing to invest 1 billion won (US$837,870) over the next five years for the establishment and operation of the center.
