SEOUL, July 26 (Korea Bizwire) — Hyundai Motor Co. announced on Monday that the company’s Veloster N ETCR won the fifth round of the Pure ETCR, an all-electric multi-brand touring car championship.
The series consists of four short-distance races and a final race.
The ranking of the manufacturers and drivers is set by adding the points accumulated during each race and the final race. The driver with the most points wins the title.
The ranking of the manufacturers is determined by adding the points of their top two drivers.
In this contest, Mikel Azcona of the Hyundai Motorsports team, who drove the Hyundai Veloster N ETCR, was the fastest around the circuit.
In the meantime, in the sixth round of the FIA World Touring Car Cup (WTCR) that was held during the same period, the Elantra N TCR (also known as the Avante N TCR) also performed well, raising expectations that it could win the overall championship following success at previous races in Hungary and Spain.
