SEOUL, Dec. 23 (Korea Bizwire) — South Korean refiner Hyundai Oilbank Co. said Thursday it will introduce the nation’s first game-themed gas station.
Hyundai Oilbank, gaming giant Nexon Co. and local fashion brand Peaches collaborated on opening a PARTS Oilbank gas station in Hannam-dong, Seoul using the intellectual property from Nexon’s hit online game “KartRider.”
Through the collaboration, Hyundai Oilbank’s gas station was reborn as a cultural complex encompassing game sculptures, graffiti art and a popup store.
Within the gas station, sculptures of famous KartRider characters and model cars are installed.
Reaction-type LED displays are installed on the ceiling of the gas station, thus playing various advertisements when cars enter the gas station.
The gas station also has a souvenir shop selling clothes and hats, as well as a lounge.
