SEOUL, Nov. 10 (Korea Bizwire) – The spotlight shines on The H Village, nestled on the fifth floor of The Hyundai Seoul, meticulously crafted by the Hyundai Department Store over nearly a year. While other department stores decorate their exteriors with Christmas splendor, The Hyundai Seoul annually undergoes a magical transformation, turning the 3,300-square-meter Sounds Forest space on the fifth floor into an enchanting indoor Christmas haven.
This year’s rendition of “H Village” is a picturesque recreation, reminiscent of “an alleyway where small European workshops gather during the Christmas season,” as described by the department store. Featuring 16 charming small shops and alleys, complemented by an impressive 11-meter-high tree, H Village captivates visitors with its festive allure.
A year ago, the Hyundai Department Store’s VMD (Visual Merchandiser) team embarked on a journey to Strasbourg, France, Paris, and London, renowned for their Christmas markets, drawing inspiration for the concept of H Village.
The narrative woven into this year’s H Village revolves around “Harry the bear,” who crafts golden macarons and mulled wine to fulfill his grandfather’s longing for family. After consuming these delectable treats, Harry dreams of a joyous reunion with his family, inspiring him to create a dream store.
Upon entering H Village, animated teddy bears and a myriad of Christmas decorations extend warm greetings. The air is filled with festive carols, and the streets are lined with quaint, adorable shops, transporting visitors into a fairy-tale Christmas street.
The shops and alleys are meticulously designed in the Art Nouveau style, featuring decorative curves inspired by flowers and plant vines.
Symbolizing the 16 boutiques found in Hyundai Department Store, the 16 shops in H Village contribute to a unique and immersive experience.
H Village opened its doors on the first of this month and will continue to captivate hearts until December 31.
