India-Centric Designs

The newly unveiled three-wheeled and compact four-wheeled EV concepts are tailored to navigate India’s congested roads and dense traffic conditions. The vehicles feature improved driving stability, enhanced safety, and increased passenger comfort.

Key design elements include angled windshields for better visibility and collision protection, flat floors, and wide wheelbases for easier entry and greater space.

The three-wheeled EV, a nod to its high usage rates in India, is equipped for diverse purposes such as passenger transport, logistics, and emergency services. Features include towing hooks and foldable seats for wheelchair users.

Additionally, adjustable body height enables smooth navigation during the heavy monsoon rains that frequently affect the region.

Hyundai is also exploring advanced materials for mass production, including waterproof coatings and paints designed to reduce thermal conductivity, ensuring the vehicles perform reliably in India’s challenging climate.

Strategic Partnerships

Hyundai announced a collaboration with India’s TVS Motor Company, a leading producer of three-wheeled vehicles. Under this partnership, Hyundai will provide expertise in vehicle design, development, and technology, while TVS will handle local manufacturing and distribution.

The two companies plan to co-develop micro-mobility solutions tailored to India’s market and conditions.

Commitment to Innovation

“Our vision is to provide last-mile and shared mobility solutions optimized for India’s roads and transportation environment,” said Lee Sang-yup, Executive Vice President of Hyundai Genesis Global Design. “Hyundai is dedicated to enhancing the mobility experience for our customers.”

With these initiatives, Hyundai reinforces its commitment to addressing India’s unique transportation challenges while expanding its presence in the growing micro-mobility segment. The company’s focus on local collaboration and tailored designs positions it to lead the way in eco-friendly, accessible mobility for the region.
