SEOUL, June 2 (Korea Bizwire)The Ministry of Science and ICT said Wednesday it will launch a service together with the Korea Internet & Security Agency, a state-run cybersecurity body, to support the strengthening of the security of smart factory manufacturing and operating facilities nationwide.

The service will offer a test tool to check the security at smart factory sites and suggest improvement plans.

For 71 smart factories that request security consulting, the ministry plans to distribute a security model for self-security checks and measures to these factories.

Among them, five factories will be selected based on the technology level and data possessed by each smart factory and customized security services will be provided by researching the optimal security solution.

In addition, security check services for control facilities using test tools will be provided to 15 smart factories that wish to receive site visits.

After verification, factories that are in need of urgent technical support will be provided with private security services and solutions in connection with the information protection support project for small and medium-sized enterprises.
