INCHEON, Sep. 11 (Korea Bizwire) Intercontinental Hotels Group announced that it opened Holiday Inn Incheon Songdo on September 5 in the Songdo International Business District. The Holiday Inn in Songdo is the first hotel of the group built in metropolitan areas in Korea. 

The hotel is nestled within Songdo Central Park with Canal Walk shopping malls, Songdo Convensia, Jack Nicklaus Golf Club and the POSCO Building, which is an ideal location for a wide array of visitors including business and casual travelers. Moreover, it is not only connected to the Central Park station Line 1 of Incheon Subway but also only 20 minutes away from Incheon International Airport and 40 minutes away from Seoul. 

The 20-story property offers 202 guestrooms, an all-day dining restaurant, a lobby lounge bar, a multi-purpose ballroom, meeting and function facilities and a fitness center. 

Intercontinental Hotels Group has partnered with OK Center Development Co. Ltd. to operate the 202-room property which was completed in August 2014. The company finished testing rooms and facilities, and allowed international press reporters to stay from September 5 as an official hotel for the 17th Asian Games Incheon 2014. 

“With the best service, Holiday Inn Incheon Songdo will provide customers with relaxation and refreshment,” Michael Wilson, the general manager of the hotel, said. “It is expected to be a landmark of Songdo for business travelers and people who trip casually to enjoy a lot of attractions in Songdo,” he added. 

Intercontinental Hotels Group headquartered in Britain operates 4,700 accommodations in nearly 100 countries. It manages Grand Intercontinental Seoul Parnas, Intercontinental Seoul Coex, Holiday inn Gwangju, Holiday Inn Seoul Seongbuk and Holiday Inn Resort Alpensia Pyeongchang in Korea.
