Incheon Airport to Provide Transportation Services to Vulnerable Groups

SEOUL, Dec. 5 (Korea Bizwire)Incheon International Airport Corp. announced on Tuesday that it plans to make improvements to facilities and services designed to help disabled persons, seniors, and pregnant women get around the airport.

The airport will first introduce vehicles to transport passengers to the departure and duty-free zones. The pick-up service will complete its trial period and begin full operations on December 10.

The airport will also offer automated stroller-rental kiosks to assist families with toddlers. Terminal 1 will go through renovations to have 10 playgrounds and 12 baby lounges by 2020.

Bollards previously installed at the entrance to airport parking lots have been taken out for the convenience of individuals in wheelchairs. Hearing loops have also been installed at information desks for persons with hearing impairment.

“We will make a detailed analysis of how vulnerable groups use our airport, to provide them with convenience and comfort,” said Chung Il-young, President & CEO of Incheon International Airport Corp.
