INCHEON, Jan. 9 (Korea Bizwire) — A cruise ship from overseas will enter Incheon Port for the first time in three years and five months following the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, a South Korean port operator said Sunday.
The Incheon Port Authority announced that Hapag-Lloyd Cruises’ MS Europa 2 will enter Incheon Port’s Cruise Terminal on March 19.
The 43,000-ton cruise ship will begin its journey in Hong Kong, carrying 544 passengers, stopping in Okinawa and Nagasaki in Japan and the South Korean port of Busan before arriving in Incheon.
Shipping companies began preparing for the redeployment of cruise ships after the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries lifted the entry restrictions that had been applied to cruise ships last October.
Twelve cruise ships are scheduled to enter Incheon Port this year, carrying a total of 18,100 passengers.
