SEOUL, Oct. 8 (Korea Bizwire)Companies, public organizations and individuals in the air cargo industry will gather together in Seoul to have a forum and exhibitions on international aviation logistics.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced that the 27th International Air Cargo Forum & Exposition hosted by Incheon International Airport Corp. and sponsored by the International Air Cargo Association starts from October 7 through 9 at Coex Exhibition Center in Seoul.

The international event often called the Olympics for aviation logistics professionals is the one and only forum on global aviation logistics attended by airports, airlines and logistics companies around the world.

In the forum gathering 3,000 delegates from the air cargo industry, the ministry and the corporation plan to promote Korea’s competitiveness in the industry and provide an arena for domestic logistics companies to boost their brand images to other world’s leading providers.

In addition, they are going to request Raymond Benjamin, Secretary General of the International Civil Aviation Organization, to elevate Korea’s status in the association from the third to the first or the second since South Korea has played its role as a rule maker, not a rule follower any more.

The Incheon-based airport company plans to hold discussions on four different themes concerning air cargo, and a one-to-one business meeting session to provide participants with many opportunities to do their marketing and share information. There will also be various exhibitions operated by 200 aviation logistics companies from various countries.

“The international event is expected to be a good opportunity for South Korea to become a hub in Northeast Asia’s aviation logistics industry,” said an official in the ministry.
