JEJU, June 20 (Korea Bizwire) – The Jeju International Tourism Marathon was held in a full-fledged manner on Sunday after being suspended for two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Some 3,500 people participated in the event, competing at the Gujwa Sports Complex and the coastal road on the southern resort island of Jeju.
The participants included some 100 foreigners from 10 countries.
The event included three courses certified by the Korea Association of Athletics Federations, including the half marathon (21.0975 kilometers), the normal course (10 km) and the coastal course for walking (5 km).
The organizing committee decided to exclude the full course (42.195 km) in consideration of the scorching heat in June.
Participants from in and out of the country competed under great weather, running along the beautiful Jeju coast.
