SEOUL, Oct. 8 (Korea Bizwire)As the popularity of YouTuber, or one-person content creator has increased, the demand for books related to YouTube and video production has also increased significantly.

Interpark, a leading online ticket and book seller, said Monday that its analysis of sales of one-man broadcasting-related books in the computer and Internet book categories from January to September showed an 82 percent on-year increase.

In particular, books that discuss YouTube video editing techniques were listed on this year’s bestseller list. This compares with the bestseller books last year, which were books in the category of office work.

Furthermore, the trend is seen to be changing compared to four one-man broadcasting-related books that were named in the top 10 best-selling books of the year, with only one book listed last year.

Those in their 30s showed significant interest in one-person media books, accounting for 61 percent of the total purchases, followed by 31 percent of those in their 20s and 3 percent of those in their teens.

It is believed that people in their 30s are leading the trend of one-person broadcasting-related books.

“The demand for coding-related books has been on the rise for some time due to the coding craze that has hit South Korea in recent years,” an official from Interpark said.

“The demand for this one-man broadcasting-related book is also expected to continue for some time based on current trends.”
