SEOUL, Oct. 12 (Korea Bizwire) — CJ CGV, South Korea’s largest multiplex cinema chain, said Tuesday that its ScreenX theater in Yeongdeungpo branch in southern Seoul was certified by the National Archives of Korea as having the world’s longest screen.
ScreenX is a multi-projection cinematic platform that provides 270-degree panoramic images to audiences by expanding the display onto the theater’s side walls.
The ScreenX theater at CGV Yeongdeungpo has a total floor space of 883.5 square meters, featuring a combined width of 72 meters and a height of 13.9 meters at its highest point.
This special theater introduced premium large format. Unlike existing ScreenX theaters that used the right and left walls, silver screens were installed on both sides of the theater, enabling viewers to enjoy movies at a higher quality.
Inside the special theater are private boxes for small groups of viewers consisting of two to four people.
