Jeju Island Supports Neutering Program for Abandoned Dogs

JEJU, Jan. 15 (Korea Bizwire)The Jeju provincial government announced on Monday that it will support the full cost of neutering operations at a designated animal hospital from the February 15 to 28

The purpose is to minimize stray dogs roaming around the island. The provincial government has allocated 100 million won (US$89,330) to support the project.

The number of stray dogs in Jeju Island is rapidly increasing, with 5,828 animals brought to animal shelters in 2017 and 7,979 in 2018.

While each household raising a female dog can apply for support, more information on the project can be obtained by calling the provincial animal shelter and veterinary policy team (☎ 064-710-2663)
