JEJU, Nov. 10 (Korea Bizwire) — The Jeju Provincial Government and the Jeju Tourism Organization said Wednesday that they completed a unique tour program designed to promote barrier-free tourism from Nov. 3-5.
The tour program, which was conducted in collaboration with the Korea Association of the Deaf, welcomed 19 hearing-impaired people and their families residing in other provinces.
While touring the island, the participants enjoyed a variety of different experiences using their five senses, including color-themed travel.
The main focus of the tour was a color-themed program by local startup Color Lab Jeju. The participants were able to feel the natural color of the island using art supplies.
They embraced the color of upland crops and stone walls at the “batdam” (field wall) and the color of the emerald sea and sunset on the beaches.
In addition, they also enjoyed various tours using the senses of sight, touch, smell and taste at forests, ranches and orchards.
