Jin Air Increases Fleet Size to 31 by Adding New B737-8

SEOUL, Dec. 6 (Korea Bizwire)Jin Air Co. a low-cost carrier subsidiary of industry leader Korean Air Co., said Friday it has acquired a new B737-8 aircraft to bring its total fleet volume to 31 units.

Jin Air said the addition marks the company’s fourth new plane acquisition of the year. The company’s fleet now consists of 19 B737-800 units, five B737-8 units, three B737-900 units and four B777-200ER units.

Jin Air said the B737-8 boasts high fuel efficiency, reduced carbon emissions and an extended flight range, making it suitable for medium-haul routes.

The airline leveraged its expanded fleet to launch new routes and increase flight frequencies this year. Jin Air said it plans to open a new route from Incheon to Taichung, Taiwan, and reopen its Incheon-Cebu route in December.
