SEOUL, May 9 (Korea Bizwire) — The South Korean culture center in Mexico City said Sunday it had hosted a special event in Chapultepec Park where participants enjoyed Korean traditional games.
The event was attended by around 40 people, including students from the Korean Cultural Center and Korean culture enthusiasts.
Participants played various Korean traditional games such as a relay race, group jump rope, dodgeball, a three-legged race, and a gourd-breaking game.
Similar to any other sports day event in South Korea, the participants were divided into blue and white teams to add to the fun, as per the center.
In the tug-of-war competition, both teams engaged in what looked like a scene from South Korea’s global sensation “Squid Game,” which was also popular in Mexico.
“The gourd-breaking game was similar to Mexico’s piñata. It was quite interesting,” said one of the participants.
