SEOUL, Feb. 9 (Korea Bizwire) –Kakao Enterprise announced on February 8 the launch of ‘burst capability’ for cloud CPUs, enabling them to momentarily exceed their base performance levels and deliver higher performance as needed.

The term ‘burstable’ signifies the ability in cloud computing to temporarily expand performance beyond a set baseline in an explosive manner.

Kakao Cloud introduced the burst capability to meet the demands of users requiring temporary performance boosts while optimizing costs.

Kakao Cloud has implemented CPU credits with the burst feature, providing a solution to resource and cost wastage issues. CPU credits are accrued during periods of usage below the standard CPU utilization rate, and can be utilized later when high CPU usage is temporarily needed. This system allows businesses and organizations with significant fluctuations in CPU usage to operate their cloud efficiently without incurring additional costs.

The newly introduced burst capability operates on the T instances of Kakao Cloud’s computing service, BCS (Beyond Compute Service). The T instances can be used at up to 60% more cost-effective prices compared to equivalent offerings from international cloud services, depending on the discount policy.
