SEOUL, Oct. 1 (Korea Bizwire) — Kakao Mobility said Tuesday it has begun offering real-time taxi-hailing services in Guam through its Kakao T app, expanding its overseas footprint in mobility services.
Travelers can book rides in Guam via the “Travel” tab in the Kakao T app, while international users can access the service through Kakao’s global mobility platform, K-Ride. For airport pickups, passengers simply enter their flight information, and drivers will be dispatched to meet them upon arrival.
The launch builds on Kakao Mobility’s partnership with Guam-based Miki Taxi Service, which has provided taxi and airport reservation services through Kakao T since 2022. The company said the new service became possible after it rolled out a dedicated driver app for the Guam market.

Kakao Mobility plans to expand similar infrastructure in other regions with underdeveloped mobility networks. Currently, Kakao T and K-Ride offer ride-hailing services in 38 countries, including the United States, Japan, Southeast Asia, and Europe.
“This expansion is significant because it applies the proven technology and operational know-how from Korea directly to overseas mobility infrastructure, enabling real-time taxi services in Guam,” said Ahn Kyu-jin, executive vice president of Kakao Mobility.
