SEOUL, July 19 (Korea Bizwire) — South Korean online lender KakaoBank Corp. said Tuesday it will be introducing a “personal vault” service, allowing users to store documents and photos as computer files.
Depending on the level of sensitivity associated with each file, users will have the option to implement additional security measures.
For instance, less sensitive photos can be accessed using biometric authorization, while more sensitive documents, such as contracts, can be configured to require a one-time password (OTP) for access.
“When a cellphone is lost or hacked, information saved on it, such as photos or notes, can be vulnerable to leakage. However, our personal vault service not only provides convenient access to information but also ensures its security,” the company said.
