SEOUL, Jan. 20 (Korea Bizwire) — The Korean variety TV show ‘Star King‘ has been running for nine years, and is set to air its 400th episode. Its host Kang Ho-dong and other co-hosts gathered for a press conference celebrating the show’s 400th episode at SBS in Deungchon-dong, Seoul on January 19.
Kang said that he is grateful for the media interest in the show’s 400th episode celebration, and he feels astonished that the show has been running for nine years since he feels like the first episode was just shot yesterday.
Star King is a talent show with featuring the catchphrase “Till Everybody Turns Out To Be A Star.” Kang explained that the show is where ordinary people in our neighborhoods become the real stars on stage, and these guests have moved hearts of audiences with their talents and quirky senses of humor.
The guests have also brought joy to audiences with their touching life stories. Star King is the stage where you can witness a melting pot of fun, talent and touching life stories all together, said Kang.
Kang also said that Star King has been like the presence of a teacher for him, since he is constantly learning from surprising talents and extraordinary life stories of guests. He said that he is thankful to be in the show in that regard.
Star King has now hosted 3,800 guests since it first aired on January 13, 2007. Its special 400th episode airing on January 31 will be an awards show celebrating all the guests who have ever been on the show. Super Junior‘s Lee Teuk will be on the show as a special co-host.
