Kang So-ra in the Limelight for Wearing $35 Dress in Music Awards Ceremony

SEOUL, Dec. 5 (Korea Bizwire)Kang So-ra, Korean actress made famous for her appearance in a 2011 blockbuster Sunny, was recently put in the spotlight for her dress she wore in the 2014 Mnet Asian Music Awards held on December 3 in Hong Kong.

Her sexy blue lace dress that looked a very expensive designer brand turned out later it was a dress from H&M costing only 39,000 won (US$35). As soon as it was known to the public on the Internet, the same dress was sold out on online shopping malls and Internet users heaped praise on the actress for her confidence in wearing a low-cost dress in a high-profile event.

In contrast, the dress shown off by another actress Choi Ji-woo in the same award ceremony was reported to cost more than $10,000 and not even available for sale in Korea. The nation’s entertainment news outlets were busy reporting the contrast comparing the two stars. Will Entertainment, the talent agency responsible for Kang, said, “Our stylist felt sorry to Ms. Kang because she became famous for wearing a cheap piece of dress.”
