SEOUL, Dec.14 (Korea Bizwire) – The majority of those who were promoted from rank and file workers to executive positions at the Samsung Group selected the new K7 from Kia Motors as their first company car.
According to Samsung Group, 197 employees were promoted to executive positions on December 4. Company cars are provided to all new executives, and there are four cars the executive director-level employees can choose from – the Hyundai Grandeur, Kia K7, GM Impala, and the SM7 from Renault-Samsung.
The most popular car selected by the new executives as well as 23 executive directors who are changing cars was the new K7, which has yet to be released.
A total of 106 executives (48 percent) selected the K7. Hyundai’s Grandeur ranked second as the choice of 79 executives, followed by the Impala (30) and SM7 (4).
Of note, 45 percent of the 197 new executives selected the K7 as their first company car, even though the vehicle won’t be released for another month. This phenomenon shows that there are high expectations for the new vehicle.
The popularity of the K7 among the executives is said to derive from its high marketability and marketing strategy.
The new K7 has a luxurious exterior and a HUD (Heads Up Display, technology that displays driving information such as speed on the windshield in front of the driver), showing higher-level features compared to the previous model. The quilted nappa leather seats, and the two-door console were also picked as strong suits of the car.
