SEOUL, Nov. 3 (Korea Bizwire) – Kia Motors has revealed the exterior design of a facelift model of the K9 to be launched in mid-November and said it would mount a V8 5.0-liter engine for the first time in Korea.
The facelift model will add majesty and sophistication to the existing upscale design all the while putting in the V8 Tau 5.0 GDI engine and a variety of new technology, transforming the K9 into Kia’s flagship model.
The V8 Tau 5.0 GDI engine, the large-sized engine with the displacement of 5,038 ml, is currently appointed with the Hyundai Equus and won the 2011 World’s 10 Best Engines award. Given most V8 engines are usually mounted on the car maker’s flagship models, the K9 will also be able to raise its profile as the large premium sedan.
The exterior design of the new K9 facelift model has changed into a mesh-style radiator grille from the existing horizontal bar pattern, which makes it look more exclusive. In the rear part, its rear lamp designs were made into more modern and wider style.
The new K9 is equipped with the newly designed chrome sputtering wheel that exudes luxuriousness commensurate with its large class.
