SEOUL, Dec. 10 (Korea Bizwire) — Kia Corp. on Wednesday unveiled a fully-redesigned second generation model of the Seltos compact sport utility vehicle (SUV) equipped with a larger body, along with a new hybrid trim of the vehicle.
The second-generation model of the Seltos, which was first introduced in 2019, was unveiled in a world premiere online video. The model’s overhaul reflects extensive consumer research, which has identified a larger interior and a diversification of trims as two consistent requests.
Built on Hyundai Motor Group’s K3 platform, Seltos features a larger body than its predecessor. Overall length has increased while cargo capacity has been expanded to 536 liters, one of the highest in its class.
The front features a wider and more robust radiator grille, while the rear adopts horizontally and vertically connected tail lamps for a clean and modern aesthetic.
Kia plans to launch the new Seltos in South Korea in the first quarter, followed by releases in North America, Europe and China. It will also be introduced in Europe for the first time.
The company has set a global annual sales targets of 430,000 units, including 130,000 in North America, 100,000 in India, 60,000 South Korea and 50,000 Europe, with hybrids expected to account for about 35 percent of total sales.
