SEOUL, May 28 (Korea Bizwire)Kia Motors unveiled a wireless cell-phone charging system in its new K5, which is the first of its kind in Korea, on May 27.

Drivers can simply put their cell-phone on a center console tray to charge it. The charging system is an optional item.

The exterior of K5 was first presented last month at the Seoul Motor Show, while details about the interior with various functions along with the charging system have recently been unveiled.

The K5 features an Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), an Advanced Smart Cruise Control (ASCC), a Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS) and Blind Spot Detection (BSD).

The K5 is also the first Korean midsize car equipped with controls by which a driver can adjust the passenger seat. Such controls were previously only available on large cars in Korea.

The K5′s driver seat is sheathed in a frame sheet which blocks uncomfortable shaking and vibrations to the driver’s body.

The interior has been enlarged compared to Kia’s other models, while the A pillars holding either side of the front windshield and the side windshield have also been made thinner, to provide the driver with a wider view.

Kia Motors will start accepting pre-orders in mid-June, and launch the K5 in July.
