DAEJEON, Dec. 31 (Korea Bizwire) —The Korea Railroad Corporation (Korail) announced on Friday that its real-time train location service was ranked the top offering of 2024 in a public poll. The service allows passengers to track the current location and estimated arrival time of all trains on a dedicated map in real time.
The poll, conducted from November 13 to December 6 via Korail’s website and its mobile app, KorailTalk, received 92,592 responses. The train location service secured 22.7% of the votes, earning the top spot.
Coming in second was the completion of automated water spray systems on high-speed rail tracks, which helped eliminate delays on KTX trains, with 16.1% of the votes. Third place went to the introduction of the KTX-Cheongryong service, capable of speeds up to 320 km/h, with 15.2%.
Other popular innovations included a virtual reality (VR) train interior guide, improvements in air quality in Mugunghwa train restrooms, expanded fare discounts for pregnant passengers, and the launch of Korail MaaS, a nationwide integrated mobility-as-a-service platform that combines travel content and transportation.
