SEOUL, Nov. 6 (Korea Bizwire) – A Nicaraguan university has opened a hall showcasing Korean culture and history, Seoul’s foreign ministry said Friday.
The “Sala de Corea” was opened inside the main library of the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Nicaragua on Thursday, marking the first time a foreign nation has established a self-dedicated hall inside a university in the Central American nation, the ministry said in a press release.
The hall is comprised of a room showcasing copies of artifacts from Korea’s past dynasties, another room displaying works that reenact Korean folk culture, as well as a room with study material on Korea.
During the opening ceremony, the South Korean Embassy in Managua and the university signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at strengthening cultural cooperation and ties, the ministry said.
