INCHEON, May 17 (Korea Bizwire) — An international drone sports event took place on Wednesday in Songdo International City, Korea. The event, part of the ’2023 Korea Drone and UAM Expo,’ featured various competitions, including the ’1st National Drone Football Competition,’ ‘World Drone Football Competition,’ and ‘Drone Racing World Cup.’
Korea has established itself as a dominant country in drone soccer and has actively supported the International Drone Football Federation (FIDA). The tournament attracted over 400 athletes from 14 countries, with a significant turnout for the ‘Youth Competition’ and the upcoming ’1st FIDA World Drone Football Championship.’
Additionally, the 2023 FAI Drone Racing World Cup showcased thrilling drone racing with participants from around the world. The event was hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport, with over 900 athletes from 20+ countries participating in various sports events at the Drone Expo.
